Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

25 chicks have hatched. 4 of my friend's died in the shell. Looks like 3 were malpositioned and 1 had a weird head deformity. I didn't take a pic. I'm not sure why so many of hers failed. There's 3 left in the incubator. 2 are shipped and were having trouble so I gave one a breathing hole in the shell because it couldn't externally pip and the other I had to free its beak from the mebrane because it was malpositioned and didn't internally pip. The third is a cochin/showgirl I put in late so it's either just slow or malpositioned but I didn't want to mess with it.

I'll take pics in a little bit.

My ducklings are mental 😂 why are ducklings so skittish?
I have no idea. Mine act like I'm going to murder them if I'm within 50 feet. Kind of funny considering their purpose. But I haven't tried to tame them. I hatched a lone duck a while back that I tamed down really nice. He liked to snuggle. I ended up selling all my ducks to someone with a pond and he went with them.

I have one that looks like that yellow one. What is it? I totally lost track of who's who. Mama looks like she's doing great!

Olive Eggers! My broody hen just happens to be an Olive Egger as well. Well, she's a "not-so-olive egger". I almost sold her, made this listing and she went broody. I'm a sucker for a good broody hen and she's doing great with the babies so she gets to stay forever now!

I just picked up 8 ducklings 🙈 they are so cute! Hoping I can get them to be relatively tame, but I have heard this is quite the undertaking.
