Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

omg so cute!! great beak coloring. I need to quit being such a purist and try making some interesting crosses.
They get the beak from their father... He's a Black Jersey Giant. Can wait to see how they feather out. I love white chickens, but I noticed that air predators take the white ones or maybe it's just the air predators at my house 😂

How much weight do your eggs lose by D18? Asking because mine are on D17 and most have lost over the 13% target, I did a no water whatsoever dry method for the first 14 days then got concerned and have been trying to keep humidity up around 40% which has been harder than anticipated (it has spent more time at 30% and below, even with a sponge in there!). The air cells honestly look okay, though.

I think you will be ok! 11-13% is what you want by day 18.

Moved them too the brooder box. The last (chick) egg was upside down, feet first at the air cell and sadly didn't make it.

I'm sorry one didn't make it but that's still a great hatch! They're so cute! I can't believe how many were in the little incubator in your previous picture. They literally looked like they were expanding in there like popcorn.

Hi all just here with some pictures! I put the goslings in a separate brooder because they are just honestly so massive. Little foot likes them though lol
