To ALL cackle hatchery customers.. * I GOT THE E-MAIL!! * pg. 3

Once your order is scheduled to be filled, they will run your credit card and you will get another invoice "attachment" marked PAID and this email.

"Your invoice is attached. Please look under SHIP DATE at the top left part of the invoice to see the date your order is scheduled to leave here. The scheduled ship date for your poultry is the first available date for your complete order to be shipped. If you have any questions regarding this order, please CALL the Hatchery.

Birds are shipping through the United States Post Office. Please allow 2-3 days for arrival at your LOCAL Post Office. If for any reason the shipping date needs to be changed, we will notify you.

I posted this in another thread in response to your question there:

Be patient. The hatcheries are really getting busy now and it may take a while. Cackle has a really weird process if youordered online. Online orders are run through a company Cackle has contracted to run their website. Every friday all the week's orders are downloaded and printed out. They are then hand entered into Cackle's system and the orders are then placed based on availability and whether or not customers asked for substitutions.

If you said they can substitute parts of your order, then you'll get contacted sooner than later. Either way, it will probably take more than 10 days from the time you did your online order. I learned all this last year when I got real worried about my order after not hearing from them on day 10. I think it was closer to 2 weeks before I got order confirmation. Oh, and emailing a question takes even longer!

If you are real worried and haven't heard anything 10 days after the friday of your order being placed, then your better off calling. Oh, and the line WILL BE BUSY. Redial is your best friend when calling. You will be best off to call first thing in the morning. Remember, they are on central time. You will probably have to call at least 10 times in a row. Later inteh season it will take WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY longer.

But, the folks there are SUPER NICE and real helpful. Just be patient, they field hundreds of orders and thousands of calls each week.

Patience is your best friend.

yep they said e-mail

Per the email excerpt you posted, it said it could come by email, snail mail or phone call....

If you placed the order on Saturday, today is only the 4th business day so I wouldn't be too worried yet if I were you. As a PP said, the hatcheries are pretty busy now. I know its hard to wait once that order is placed - we just want to get them NOW LOL, but although I've never ordered from Cackle, I've only heard good things about them so I'm sure you'll be happy with your chicks.

I've heard really good things about Cackle. But be sure you are also checking your "junk mailbox" in your inbox section. Sometimes delivery confirmations from any type of online orders of mine end up in the junk box. It's just the filter that the email software uses.

It took over a week to get my email with my shipping date on it. Can't remember exactly how many days, but am sure it was over a week. This was in Jan. so I'm sure they are really busy by now.

I've ordered from them twice, I also called and got the ship dates, but I ordered mine two months apart and got them 5 days apart so that means I had to wait two months on the first order to be filled, they post poned the shipping date on that one or something. But they do have nice quality birds though.
