To assist or continue waiting?

Congrats!!! And she looks like a character already lol
Yes, she is. After monitoring her all night due to her inability to right herself if she ended up on her back, one curled toe has corrected itself and she isn't hurtling any more! Now, do I bathe her? Her back and neck fluff is still plastered together from her messy hatch and there is some membrane clinging on, lol. The other chick has been trying to remove it.

I would get the chunks off, and check her eyes and beak to make sure they are clear, but I’d wait a few days before getting her wet. Try a dry soft toothbrush or even a terry cloth rag, scruff it up a bit. They will preen most of it themselves.

Thank you! Eyes and beak are good. She just looks kind of pathetic, lol. I don't think she cares, she has quite an attitude already! I just feel like a neglectful mom allowing her to look that scruffy
And the BCM chick with her has been helping with the preening, too. I will probably use a toothbrush on her tomorrow.
