To drain or not to drain

I have a sultan roo that has had issues with having his leg feathers picked by the other roos so i alternate having him in my chicken hospital and with the girls out in their run. Today i picked him up to inspect his legs and feet and he has an infected bump by his knee. I have him inside and im going to give him a warm water soak with epsom salt. Im just not sure if i should drain the infection. Im not sure how fast it popped up. I havnt inspected his legs for a while because hes been doing good with the hens and i hadnt noticed any agressive feather pulling. It doesn't feel hot to the touch and he dosnt mind when i touch it and it is on the squishy side.
