to hatch in egg carton or not??

Is it pointy end down? I am thinking I am going to set my first eggs in the morning, and was undecided about using the cartons or not. I just want to do everything right ya know.

I am considering using the egg carton method for my first hatch. I go into lockdown on the 21st. Except, I have some eggs where it is very difficult to distinguish between the pointy end and the other end. To avoid mistakes, can I go by which side the "air bubble" is on then? so.. that would be air bubble side UP?

Otherwise its pointy end down!

yes, I think so. I just went and read some information in the learning center here. very helpful. the only thing I am not sure about now is when turning, do I turn them from the pointy side up then down the up then down. or is it side to side.

When doing the carton method, put the eggs in the same way you should when storing those eggs either for eating or hatching.

- Pointy end down, air sac end up.

The little cutouts of carton above with only a couple eggs in them are to separate bloodlines of certain breeds, so when they hatch I can mark them before they mix and mingle with others of their breed.

This pic was taken this morning.

Wow! Nice picture! I'm glad to have seen a picture of this, because now I know I was thinking the correct thing. The thought of putting the eggs back in cartons just seemed really bizarre to me.
