well the other 8 hatched before this one started. I didn't think it was going to hatch and so i didn't waA tch the humidty to much, and then suprize! What is a mister? Just spray some warm water?

A spray bottle that can make a fine spray.

He wasnt getting out because the silly little guy got his head stuck in the shell and at this point he is so squished in the egg that he can not put it back in the egg and continue zipping.

Thats what i think too!

Well I was able to "zip" around the rest of the way for the chick. i did break the membrane in a few little places, but i tried really hard not to. the baby was peeping the whole time. I put it back in the bator and we will see what happens i guess.

Well she has mangered to get the top off! Thats good right! she is just peeping like crazy!

That's great! A stall in progress of zipping once it has started, or regression back toward pip site, is a good indication that something is mechanically blocking the rotation, be it malposition or dry membranes. Perfect situation for a little careful assist as you did. Nice work!

I would have definitely helped it out of the egg. No question.

I have not seen anything like this before. From what I'm reading, I would also think that it would be hard to zip if it's head is out! My goodness, I would help zip it..which it looks like you have. Keep us updated. Going slow of course will help it keep struggling a bit, and that is good exercise for it.
Once they are assisted even a little, they usually need it done the rest of the way, slowly but surely. Good luck.

So shes doing pretty good I think. She isn't opening her eyes yet, but I think it will come. She is quite vocal and then rests for a bit. As you can see the egg is in a carton....think she will make it out of the egg on her own? When I zipped around it went a little higher than I had planned, but this was my first time.
