So I'm new to having chickens. I have some golden sex link chicks right now but after I saw some pictures of silkies I absolutely fell in love with them! They're so cute!! They look like little Dr Seuss creatures to me. haha. I wanted to try getting some chicks but I worry about the south texas heat. Is it too hot down here for them? Wouldn't want to kill the poor things.

Silkies should do as well In Texas as anywhere. If anything, I believe they have more trouble with cold than some cold hardier breeds. But any chicken needs lots of shade, breeze and fresh water to survive southern heat.
