I rescued a Cayuga male (Cranberry Sauce) about 2 years ago that has terrorized my hens AND turkeys trying to mate with them since we brought him home. My DH went to Tractor Supply 2 months ago and picked up 2 baby ducks (Pekins) for him to play with. He totally ignores them. They are bigger than he is - which shouldn't be an issue since he's smaller than most of the chickens and definitely the turkey that he constantly tries to mate with. My issue is they are going through 3 gallons of water a day. We have a small pool for them - they ignore it and play in the water fountain. I'm not sure my well can tolerate an additional 3 gallons of water a day to keep them happy. Will this continue? Or is this just during the growing phase? TIA!

Separate your ducks from your chickens and turkeys. then he will eventually bond with the ducks.

As for the water well ducks love water and will dabble in it constantly mine do.
