Great post! I'm up to 6 a day with my 7 hens, My A&M's will start laying in late June then I'll be swimming in eggs too. How many hens do you have total?

I just went out and counted my breeding pens and my original hen count was off!
I thought i had 26 hens, but i only have 23!! I have 12 brown and golden hens in one pen (with tibetan and tuxedo roosters), and 11 tuxedo, tibetans, goldens, A & M's and browns in the lower pen, with a tuxedo and brown rooster.

I am at 20 eggs so far today, through observation they dont lay the first egg until about 3 PM and are done by about 6 PM, i can litterally pull the eggs, go feed chickens and turkeys and then go back to the pen and there will be a few eggs!!

Nice! Mine lay later in the day also.

My chickens are scattered, two in the morning and the rest in the afternoon.

So are you eating them , selling them for eating or?

some are from relatives of yours but most are from other lines the ones that are about the same age as yours havent started yet i cannot wait for htem to though!

the eggs i get from my older flock are about average very rarely i get doubleyolkers

Mine seem to lay anywhere from 4pm to 4 am. I get most of them later in the day, by 7pm usually, then there are always 2 or 3 waiting for me when I go out in the morning

I have injuries I wish i'd caught sooner...What can I do for eye injuries?
One day fine..next injury...remove...next day another...Now everybody been placed in seperate pens...tried 2 roos to 8hens...not good either...Have a nasty littlr pecker
