to take or not to take......

i have a game hen that has just started to set on eggs but the eggs are not fertilized if i put some week old babies under her will she take them

shejust started setting yesterday

Game hens are only second to a silkie when it comes to being a mom.

Sure would give it a try. One at a time one day at a time.

If they are a week old, that may be too old. Just be sure to be there when she wakes up and be prepared to take them away.

I think she will take them, and I would swap them all at once, while removing the eggs too. Be sure to do it at night time, so she doesn't get up and leave. Since she just started sitting yesterday, I would probably give her another day or so to make sure that she is going to stay broody. Good luck. I do this to my silkies and they do fine.
