I am new to chickens. I have 6 hens and no rooster. When I go to collect eggs, one watches me like she doesn't want me to take her egg and made me feel bad! I bought six artificial eggs and left one in each nest so she could sit on it! Hope it works!

I always thank my hens when I collect their eggs They work hard to make those eggs. I only have one laying eggs right now but she is a very happy girl every time

Thanks! I always collect eggs when I'm feeding them treats! They love mealworms, squash, cucumbers, sunflower seeds, etc! They really don't pay attention when they are eating.

Your hen is probably looking at you and thinking, what did you bring me to eat? Once they've laid an egg and tooted their horn about the stellar accomplishment, they forget all about the egg.
