Dear OldChick,

I think I speak for everyone when I say we need more Steele stories! We have heard nothing about him for a long while! We want Steele! We want Steele!

Sincerely,
Chickenfan4life and Company.

Here he is trying to seduce a hen with a piece of dog food.

He's not quite sure of what to think of me and my camera

This is how he seduces a hen. At first I thought he was challenging me but he did a wing dance with a hen. When she ran he didn't chase her and totally ignored me when I got to my feet. Later, he did the same thing to a hen who squatted and he got lucky.

He finally grew confident enough to groom near me.

Gotta get those scraggly feathers!

Here he helps a hen with her salad

He's a happy rooster!

Although Louise is bored

And Askew rather sit in my lap

Thanks for asking!

He's so handsome!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are great pics!

Oooo, he is sooooo handsome. And such lovely vibrant photos. I'm so happy that he's fitting into his flock of ladies.

We're starting a little landscape project on Monday. I'm really worried about the noise frightening my hens. They need to jackhammer up the old slap patio. And they have to open the gate to the run. OMG, I think I have a way to barricade them inside. And I'll be home from work early to hand feed lots of treats to the ladies to make up for all the frightening noise.

Hopefully, once this is all done, hopefully, I'll be able to get some good shots of my gals too.

Mine seem to tolerate noises very well. We've had the backhoe come grumbling by and they were unconcerned. I've hammered inside the coop and they'll come in to watch. However, see that blue chair in the photo? Move it and they flip out.

That's funny about the blue chair. It's funny how certain things make them crazy. I know some chickens hate it when people wear hats but mine don't care. But they won't take treats out of my hand if I have gloves on. So I've got to remove my garden gloves and pick up the worm or grub and hand it to them. Shesh.

I hope you are right about the noise. They have to jack hammer up the slab which runs right up to their gate. The landscaper has chickens so I think he gets me when I say chicken this and chicken that. But I still worry.

I'll pick up an extra banana at the store today. They LOVE banana and that will be their special treat tomorrow afternoon.
