To those with kids and having to remove stickers from doors...

Goodness! Just go to Home Depot and buy a new door! Used the old one in the coop! The hens will have those stickers picked off in no time. (just kidding about the hens, but not about getting a new door)

Goo Be Gone! Just like everyone else is saying. It also works to get tar from the road off of your cars paint, gum out of hair, etc... Good stuff!

If that doesn't work, then you will have to sand the door down and repaint it. Good luck with it!

I agree with Terrie... even with the best goo-gone or other product to get rid of the adhesive, it will not soak through the stickers...that takes elbow grease and after looking at that door... IMHO it just isn't worth the kind of effort it is going to take to scrape all that off.

Right, DLH, PLUS it is an heirloom.
In 80 years, SIlkiechicken can show it to her great grandchildren and say "See how BAD I was?"

LOL. I was just going to leave it but some of them are peeling off part way and flaking off old plastic! My mom is getting tired of sucking up sticker particles as shes picky about cleaning EVERYTHING. I did some more picking and a few of the "stickers" are gift wrap cut outs glued to the door. Used a bottle of strong ethanol and rubbed off a bigger circle on one side. I'll probably have it clean in a few months. :p Going to pick up a bottle of goo gone in a bit. I'm going to pass on the mayo and peanut butter since we don't actually have any of it and I'd rather not have to wash the door of oil later, although that can't be that bad.

I'm not really that concerned, but it would be nice to have a semi clear door again. I have a very cluttered room and am clearing some stuff out so it's not as hard to clean when I am gone for extended periods of time. If this place ever sells, I'm sure the house, the out buildings, and sheds will all be torn down and flattened for the use of a commercial development anyways, so no worries about house value (zoning is commercial lot). Which is probably why they never stopped me from plastering the door in the first place!

I so should just keep the door and take it with me as a part of history! hahaha

I'll post an after if I can get more off some time soon.
