To TREADLE or not to TREADLE, that is the question.

Alright folks... I have seen a lot of talk about a chicken treadle for feeding chickens. Do you have one? What do you like or dislike about them? If you are adamantly against a treadle, do you have a solution that reduces rodents and doesn't have to be filled every day?

PROS:
It looks like they can reduce rats/mice from getting into feed.
Do not have to fill feed every day.

CONS:
Possible chicken-stuckage if not designed properly.

I had no idea such a contraption existed!! That's awesome!

As far as anticipated "stuckage" goes, we've got a gorgeous Lavender Orpington whose bulb isn't bright enough to attract even the most desperate of moths...all I envision is a fluffy, lavender beach ball cursing (muffled, of course) as she tries to back out, but can't remember to step on the pedal. Then, as soon as she's freed, getting herself stuck all over again!

My other five are quite smart, and would probably love that feeder though!

I use the treadle feeders, find them really good.

I had to find new feeders when my chicken run roof collapsed.

I found these ones

4 girls can feed at once in this one.

I have the the 12 kg one and 2 girls can feed at once in that one.

The girls worked them out pretty quick and so far no chicken stuckage has occurred.

EDITED - Oh sorry as for dislike, so far the only dislike I have, is with the the silver one, you can’t fill it to capacity. The girls can and will toss the feed out. So I fill half way, but still don’t have to fill every day.
