File the tips down a bit and you are good.

always keep this around if you start to get into the quick the spurs will bleed.

Benzocaine can be toxic to birds...anything with the -caine suffix should not be used. Corn starch works good for bleed stop.

I'm a tip nipper, either i grind the tip with a pedicure tool or clip it with the cat's nail cutters so far I've not made anyone bleed. I have looked at the potato method, i absolutely could not do that to my roo it looks terribly painful and I'd probably pass out.

It does indeed, sorry, I missed that...huh.
I may be repeating one of those 'myths'.
OR..... 'myth' may not be applicable to blood flow from trimming spurs/nails,
and still is applicable to applying antibiotic ointments/creams to wounds.
