lol i know calling the horse haulers most likely drives them nuts but they havent complained yet! lol i have another mini coming from California in august lol. and she is pregnant lol ill REALLY drive them batty
im nervous i have shipped horses and even a few of our sheltie pups lol but never chicks !

I've always dealt with McMurray Hatchery. From what they tell me, they ship according to hatch day. I always order day old chicks. So if the eggs hatch on Saturday, I receive them on Monday. The post office has always called me first thing Monday morning and I run up, knock on the side door and they give me my chicks. McMurray has also indicated that it would be possible to get a call from one of the local postal hubs for chick pickup on Sunday but that has never happened to me in this area.

I just got an order in on June 29th. I was really afraid that the extreme heat we are having would get to my babies before I got them home. But all 27 chicks were fine; all happy & healthy. Whew!

I live in Ohio and just got a shipment from McMurray. They shipped on the 6th, I got a call from the post office at 7:30AM on Tuesday morning to come get them.

Glad I found this thread, I have Turkeys coming the week of the 13. I did go in and talked to the Postal Service and they said that they would call me as soon as they can. I gave them my number to make sure they had it.
I also explained the age old comment, if they are really loud, like with all day olds, they need warmth. Cover them with a blanket with air hole, place them in a warm room and they will never have loud birds again.
They were very good...I said that some reputations that are out there, I was very concerned...the lady said "you will not have any issues here".
So we'll see........I'm biting my finger nails also!
