Since when? The original toad formula was pretty well documented on here step by step... this is the first I have seen of any secretive breeding of these guys

It might not be as secretive as I made it out to be...We discussed it at length in the Minnesota thread before doing it.....

We wanted to get rid of the single comb and we wanted an extended frame....I wanted some more color as too many were pure white.....

SO guess what we used...........I think @MNChickMom as 4-5 of the toads 2.0 now. I have toad 2.0 eggs....

Also do not believe Bantychooks if she tells you......we all know how she makes stuff up.....

The CX hen I used seems to have had barred Rock or something in her... Her white sons, which are out of a non barred roo, are producing barred cockerels and white cockerels some with black or red feathers.... When 1/2 CX are bred to br I have gotten a few barred pullets... I had no barred roos...
The CX was from town line hatchery

I have a lot Orange in some of my roosters. I have never gotten orange in a hen, yet. I want too.

Are you finding extreme sexual dimorphism in your crosses? All chickens have some, but the toads seem to be extreme with the roosters being 2-3 times larger than the hens.

Some hens are the size of a sexlink and some are bigger than a br, about the size of a hatchery bjg... One 16wk cockerel dressed at 7 lbs 9 oz and one 3lbs 6 oz. But he only had one testicle on the right and an overiey in the middle
So mine are all over the place
Hopefully this year they will be better..
I am breeding f2 pullets to Uncle
The 1/2 CX roo I used last year died at 14 months of water belly.. so his brothers get a chance

The biggest birds have been for the most part barred... not big chested but meaty... I have a couple of barred cockerels in case the uncles croak.. I have one white cockerel I was going to use, he was the only one that grew super fast.. but he keeps falling off the hens.. I think his chest is too big.. he is in with some pullets and I will see if I get any fert eggs...

Below are pictures of Toad 2.0. There is one who is 3.5 weeks old and 3 that are 2.5 weeks old. I apologize for the poor red light pictures but I didn’t have the heart to take them out of the brooder when we are enduring a Minnesota cold snap. The oldest is nick named Hoover as the instant he was taken out the hatcher he went around sucking up food.
