Today is hatch day and temp went to 140!!!!!

I know the feeling. Checked the bator and the thermometer said 107 I about flipped. Got it down to normal as quick as possible. Surprisingly I had a 80% hatch rate. Ended up replacing the thermostat with a totaly electronic one from Incubator warehouse. Next hatch went off with out a hitch. They are quite pricey but I liked it so much I replaced the one in my hatcher too. Hope your babies are ok. Sending you good bator vibes.

I can not stress enough the importance of a good thermostat. I used to raise boa constrictors, and had 1st gen morphs I had created myseld worth 10-15k a piece as new borns. Helix is the way to go. a great thermostat with several built in safeties.

I like the first couple of posts.... "No they should be fine...."

When I read it I was thinking, Dude, you have some cooked eggs in there...

At 104 they should really be fine. Let us know how they do!

Please get a new thermostat. a helix is one of the best. Thermostat issues (like heat spikes and cold drops) are almost always preventable. Best scenario ever is to buy a backup battery/converter. You can find them online for electronics lieke computers(or a music store as they are used for amps and other expensive items that can be perm damaged by a surge or dip). They are an interuption switch between the wall and your incubator. When you use when it stops any and all brown or black outs. That translates to even voltage throughout the day, even when power surges, dips or cuts out. This with a good thermostat would almost guarnatee (99.99999999999%) that you will not lose an egg to any controlable electronic factor.

not for one of those cheap styrofoam incubators....trouble is mostly room temp ,or because heating unit to low ,for heat gain.
