I love the idea of planting a tree and decorating it with your son. It's a special way of remembering daddy in a loving way.

What a wonderful tribute to the love of your life .. and your time together ..

AHappyChick, I know you said you were not looking for sympathy with this thread, but I can't help it, it's what I'm feeling.

How old is your son? So glad you have him, a little piece of his father!

AHappychick,
A favorite line from Shakespeare's sonnet 23 came to mind: ". . . Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds . . . "

I don't think it's unreasonable to continue loving someone even though they've passed on; of course, it's no less reasonable to enlarge upon that love by loving again if a worthy person comes into one's life. To those who say, "You're young, etc." I say, "Right! So there's no hurry . . ."

How nice that you and DS now have a living memorial to your DH. Have you ever read the words to "O Christmas Tree"? So apt for your love. Many hugs coming your way this season!

. Second, how awesome for you to experience that level of love and happiness. Your relationship is one that many only dream of. Thanks for taking some time to share it with the rest of us. While there's definitely a knot in my throat, my day got a little brighter seeing the pictures of you two.
