Oat meal is it cooked or Raw uncooked ?
Im thinking about planting some more sunflower seeds for the girls and my african grey parrot.

What would they think if i put in a whole head ? LMAO ill try and get video when i do .

Im interested in feeding some grass i grow as i do not want anything that is not organic in with the girls any ideas ? Tammy

This morning's low was around 30°, with freezing rain that later changed to rain and then gave way to clearing. The temps hag risen to the 50's. I collected 5 eggs today from my 5 hens.

Can't believe how many replies we have! I have been out since Thursday and hadn't checked in. Honestly Bruce, if I hadn't read your post that we were on the home page caroselle, I wouldn't have known how this thread went so crazy. So glad folks like it. I haven't read all the posts but those of you with FROZEN eggs amaze me. We have had a super mild winter. As a matter of fact, today we were right around 70 and I got 12/17. Tomorrow we are supposed to be warm as well but with a front moving through so we expect bad weather and a temp. drop to a high of 45.

We'll see what this rollar coaster ride does to your theory bruce.

lol. Another abnormally hot day. Up to 19, and back to the standard 8 eggs from 11 hens. They seem to be pretty steady from -30 to +20. The 5 barred rocks and 3 welsummers started laying in mid November and the other 2 welsummers and jersey giant, I have no idea how old they are. If I had more chickens, I'd be able to theorize a little more.

31 degrees for a high today. My sneaky birds. Wyandotte has been laying all along. Thought it was the Buff Orpington as she's been hanging with the Roo more. But it's been the Wyandotte. Good deal. Might be another egg in the near future yet.

Amy.....BRRRR! That is cold! Pack up the family and chicks and come on down to FL.....it was 80 here today and I got 4 out 4 (2 Gold Comets/ 2 EEs)

Ha! I was so happy to get 7 eggs today that I gave them oatmeal at 4:30pm too!
Temperature was 30 and we had some snow and sleet.
