Today's temperature = # of eggs.

Hi! It is 35 degrees here in northern Wisconsin today! I have four chickens, and I got 4 eggs today! I have a White Crested Polish, a Wyandotte and 2 ISA's! The cold never seems to bother them, as long as it isn't windy they are out when it is below zero!

Wow! 78 degrees!
And then the clouds moved in.
Now its cooling off a little.
I got a pretty ocean green egg from our Ameracauna, two Australorps, and a Barnvelder egg.
If I wanted to brave the showers, I imagine I could find another couple of eggs.

We've had temps in the teens, yesterday was mid 40s, today, upper 50s, my 20 week RIR laid her first egg (posted earlier) today, temps tomorrow in upper 50's with bad weather scheduled to move in dropping temps back into the upper teens and lower 20s. Can't wait to see if she lays one tomorrow.

Questions for each of you: Are you native to the countries you are posting from or are you transplants from somewhere else and how long have you been there?

I
Think our high temp was 43 F today still got the same number (6) of eggs. Tomorrow promises to be about 50 F We do have some crazy fluctuations in temps here. Last week we would have been glad to have a high of 10 and this week it's 50! Now were in a flood watch...

I grew grass right in the run, just made a raised bed, p,anted the seed and then put hardware cloth on the top..the girls had to wait until the grass came up out of the hardware cloth to eat it so they had grass for quite a while. Then at the end of the season we just pulled the wood frames out and they really went to town on it, took all of about 1/2 hour for it to be flat and gone.
