Today's temperature = # of eggs.

I let my girls out today, after the line of storms had passed, to free range. They went to town! We recently tilled up our garden to get it ready and they were finding all kinds of treats! :D They are now tucked in and fat! I did have 1 more late egg when I went to close up so that makes 8/8! One of my Amerucanas always lays late.

Total count today is officially 7!!! all three of my laying pullets, Angel, Babe, and Blondie each gave me an egg and 4 out of 6 of my BSL girls gave me an egg. Blondie, my smallest laying pullet was still in the nesting bucket tonight so I gently scooted her out. She has been in it most of the day. I told her "NO MORE BABIES!!!!"

Eleven eggs for sure. Ventured out long enough to grab the eggs that were easy to get. High winds (tornado watch), raining buckets, non-stop lightening and thunder - decided I wasn't staying out there any longer than to close up the chicken house and tractors.

The temperature shot WAY up yesterday and today. We went from it being below zero at night and 10 degrees during the day to 46 degrees and rainy. I got 8 eggs from my 13 layers. Six of my girls are going to stop laying soon, because they are almost 5 years old. Planning on getting 10 more girls in April!
