Today's temperature = # of eggs.

The low last night was 36 and today's high was 50. We had five eggs from fourteen girls.

it's been about 40 degrees all day and we got 167, but it was also very rainy and cloudy. We have about 30 hens, so I guess its a good number since it was rainy/cloudy and really cold.

Here's my last 7 days:

# eggs, hi-low, conditions in AM, extras, day conditions, treats:

20 eggs 52°-37° 48/cloudy/rain in 6 AM no warm water, no cayenne in feed cloudy no treats
22 eggs 56°-34° 32/cloudy 6 AM warm water, cayenne in feed sunny wheat grass
16 eggs 61°-47° 49/cloudy/windy 6 AM no warm water, no cayenne in feed windy/rainy no treats
23 eggs 61°-44° 52/cloudy 6 AM no warm water, no cayenne in feed cloudy/little sun wheat grass
22 eggs 54°-43° 40/cloudy 6 AM warm water, cayenne in feed sunnyAM/cloudyPM no treats
24 eggs 46°-40° 43/cloudy/drizzle 6 AM no warm water, no cayenne in feed rainyAM/cloudyPM oat sprouts
24 eggs 59°-34° 33/clear/frost 6 AM warm water cayenne in feed sunny no treats

I have 44 hens, some are older that don't lay every day. Don't think the hens like the wind! I'm trying to find the 'trend'...it seems like every time I feed them wheat grass/sprouts, they lay less eggs the next day! I get my temps from the weather channel...in my area it does get colder/warmer than what they say.

I got 5 hen eggs and 2 pullet eggs out of 6 hens and 3 pullets. One of my pullets has gone broody on me. I have to tip her out of her nest bucket every evening. I know who to go to when I decide to hatch some chicks, that's for sure
