Kept them locked up and I stayed inside - windy, freezing cold - twenty, teens, sleet, freezing rain and snow. And to think it was 71 degrees two days ago. Eggs are there with the flock. So, the count for today is ???????

You should be getting a lot more eggs than that. Do you add to their length of day with a lamp on a timer? Doing so makes a huge difference in egg production. With my three older pullets (9 months old), we never get fewer than two eggs per day, and sometimes three. Aim for 15 hours of light per day, with most of the supplemental light provided in the morning.
Thunder ? Lightning? Tornado Watch? Rain?
Just dumping snow here, finally looks like winter![]()
So True! Even if you like winter as much as I.Two days ago it was 71 degrees. Today it was in the teens with freezing rain, sleet and snow with horrible winds. Don't like winter but couldn't live without it - I wouldn't appreciate Spring and Summer as much with out winter.
Welcome to all the new folks!Today was like 35 or so and I got 19 eggs form 25 hens. Not sure if all are laying yet. All my hens are barnyard mutts.
