My temps run about the same as lahowardjr. We are pretty close to eachother. Been averaging 8/12. I will believe the daylight cycle has shifted when my banty lays an egg. Still waiting on her so I guess my count is 8/11 really. Can't confirm all 7 red girls are laying but I believe them to be. Confirmation on the two Favs, one Araucana and one Houdan. Their eggs are easy to identify.

I wish we would leave the time alone. I don't care which direction we leave it but I hate keeping up with the clocks and shifting my body clock twice a year! My crazy roos start crowing at least an hour before sun up and they don't care that people are now sleeping at that time. Can't fool mother nature.

Got 7 yesterday from my 12 girls! Hoping the weather will level out soon, maybe then the chickens will level out!!!

High of 50 degrees F with sun and clouds. Got 10 eggs, such good girls!

My neighbor's roos crow all day from before sunrise to after sunset. I don' t think they notice DST. She said one of them will crow at night if they turn a light on in the house (and, presumably, he sees it).


Tuesday: Low 47 High 52 - 7 eggs
Apparently they spent a goodly amount of time out in the rain. Not like in the Fall when they were only 4 months old.

Wednesday: Low 32 High 42 - 7 eggs. Including, I'm pretty sure, both of the girls that were broody

Low 34 High 20 - Yeah, I know that looks wrong, but the temps dropped all day. It was colder mid day than it was through the night.

Only 5 eggs. Theory needs a tweak

50 degrees last night and 80 today and still eight eggs from fourteen warm hens. I'm worried that a few are getting ready for the molt.
