Sunday: Low 29 High 57 - 7 eggs
Monday: Low 40 High 47 - 9 eggs
Tuesday: Low 22 High 34 - 10 eggs. If I get to count this tiny little thing I found in the run:
Once in a while I get an egg like this i blow them out, wait a couple of days then paint them with glitter nail polish. Then put them in a small basket on my hutch.

It weighs all of 8 grams. The blue one next to is is 58 grams. I have 2 girls that lay white and there was only one white egg in the nest boxes today.

I think that is a good idea. I thought my daughter had used it but no. And she talked about keeping it. I told her she better blow it out or it will rot.

Low today 34, high 49, 8 eggs. The two broodies were back in the nest boxes not long after I let everyone out about noon. They went back in the broody box right quick.

they will get over it by tomorrow.

fun with broodies again!

So far no one here is interested in being broody and that is good as we don't plan on a hatch this year.

Got 10/12 on Saturdday, 70 hi, 53 lo. only 6/12 yesterdAY. ( excuse the poor typing. it is difficult to type over a cat on a laptop)

We are getting some new additions (of the 4 legged kind) in a couple of weeks. 2 Llamas! We are excited. We hope they will keep the coyotes out of the pasture.

My parents got a donkey for keeping coyotes at bay..didn't even know, nor would I have thought llamas! Congrats! I haven't posted in what seems forever because only my EE is laying. Lucky if I get one every other day. My bantam Cochin is about the same.

We "donkey sat" for some friends while they were re-working their pasture and after the experience we decided they were too destructive. They kept going in the chicken coop while the chickens free ranged and they were clumsy and broke waterers trying to drink from them and steped onand bent feed troughs etc. We decided against the donkys.

I am still not sure if my Cochin banty is laying or not. Got a couple of eggs that are different lately but not small enough or different enough to pin them to her. Could just be another girl having an "off" egg day. Also no one has seen her in or near the nest boxes so I am beginning to wonder about her.

80 degrees today and 7/12 so far.

Looks like everyone is out enjoying the spring weather and no one is posting! Can't blame you. We have been getting 8 to 9 out of 12 girls on a regular basis with temps in the 70s. Tonight we are dropping down to the 30s and highs of 50 for a couple of days. we'll see what the girls think about that.

Hope everyone is have a good spring. I am loving the flowers!

Hey puddin! I will post my newest daily excitement!! My Golden Cuckoo Marans layed her 4th egg today! Didn't take a pic of today's egg but it's getting darker! She's the first of my Marans pullets laying! I have included a Salmon Fav and EE on each end for comparison.

First eggs are always exciting. I am still trying to decide if my Cochin banty is laying or not. We have not witnessed her in the box at all but have gotten a couple of smallish brown eggs so we aren't sure if one of the reds is laying small, or if the banty is laying big.
