The weather has warmed up and I am spending more time outside and less on the computer but, an update is in order: Still getting 7/12 or so each day. I am waiting for a 100% day but the closest we have gotten was 10/12. Stil not sure about our banty. She has been spotted in the nest but no one has witnessed an "egg drop".

It is nice to start to see the grass growing. The girls ( hens) will love it. 21 is the temp right now but we will see 60.

We got 11/12 this weekend!!!!

Temps around 75 in the day. Still no eye witness to the Cochin laying but she has been spotted in the nests. I really need a chicken cam!

Hey!!!! Anyone still out there? If you are like me gardens/chickens etc. are taking up all your waking hours.

Bruce, I think your theory about cool weather may hold some merit. My girls are slowing down now that we are 80 plus on most days. I also had to do your broody busting with one of my Favs last week.

I did broody busting yesterday, one of my astrolorps decided she wanted a dozen eggs to set, wrong took them from her. Got too many chicks to deal with already! Lol... How's everyone doing?

Ugh....Im melting in this 98 degree 16% humidity in Denver, CO.

My egg production has dropped since Saturday. I have only got 6 eggs from 6 chickens.

Last week I got 16

Praying for rain and cooler temps for our state. We have way too many fires going and starting and being contained. Keep our families, first responders, fire fighters in your thoughts.

Mine aren't laying well in this heat either 97 here today! Of course I have several hens that's went broody also so that's not helped have had chicks hatching all week!

Hot and humid in NY. I think the weather is breaking a little though only 86 today.
Still have been getting 12-13 eggs a day from 17. Saw my neighbor do something very strange, for our area anyway, so I'm thinking she may be taking eggs too. I was getting 16 a day.
