I'd rather have a vulture in my garden than a hawk, they're scavengers, not killers.
Around here we just have kites and buzzards though.

I saw one fly over in Santa Rosa Ca back in 83 but when I mentioned I'd seen it to friends they just laughed and said I was crazy . Local news reported one had escaped from some Zoo.

I honestly love buzzards and vultures people call them ugly but they are really awesome and i think they are cute and if they didn't eat up all the roadkill and rotting dead stuff the world would stink!
