Good morning!
Duckling woke late on Saturday. Like 9:30. So she had brunch and nap time was pushed to 1:30, which turned into two. She took forever with her snack. Then she was over tired and also gassy. No nap. But I can say this! Despite her behavior the rest of the day, it wasn't nearly as bad as when her parents drop her off after a short night and no nap.
She was in my lap, getting a talking to when she broke wind, and about knocked me out! I think we were both glad when she finally went to the bathroom Saturday!

My sister is basically raising her granddaughter. She has her 90% of the time & my niece has her the other 10%. DH & I have great-aunts on both sides who have raised 2 generations of grandkids/great-grandkids... Whats up Abi???

She is getting ready to start school (though her parents don't know when school starts. Somewhere between next week, and the first week of September. ), and the women prepping her are apparently confusing her. She was insistent today with not belonging here. Wanting to be at the apartment. She doesn't want me to say she's mine when we're snuggling ("My precious baby/girl") or when we're playing, I'm no longer supposed to say, "mine!" as a pull her to me.
She even has taken my drawings she just made for me.
I didn't go through this with my nephew at this age. I'm really lost and hurt. She's little and confused. But my heart is breaking. Not to mention she seems so scared about all of the changes.

That's so heartbreaking m c. Do the people at the school know YOU have been raising her? I'm so sorry your going through this.
It's so hard when you got others confusing them. I have some idea what your going through raising kids being divorced. Always had someone telling my kids something to confuse them.

No. No one knows. I remember hearing my brother-in-law tell a woman that I'm "just a babysitter" last year, back when I still had her 6-10 days at a time.
I just wish I had the ability to explain to Duckling that she does belong here.
I know I can't say anything to cause more confusion.

Been through a lot of counseling with my daughter. Don't know that any of it helped she's 18 now and still messed up.
But . . I did pick up a few things in those therapy sessions.
