Toddlers are Quackers

You guys don’t think I teach her bad things, do you? :lau

(It’s a grape)

I never got around to getting a “real” pool this year. I was looking at the 30”, 8’ pools for $45... then another $100 for all the chemicals, cover and a stronger pump (it’s the most common complaint).
I decided instead to get some use out of the pool I have. It’s missing the top valve cover, and I got dizzy blowing up the bottom ring. Regardless, she had fun. More than in the puddles which are finally drying up today.
I have a suction shower hose holder for her. She put the head in wrong (towards the back opening), and it flooded the bathroom before I went in, and saw. I was cleaning up that mess when she pulled the curtain open... from the side the hose was then pointed. :th Kid is clean, bathroom is clean.

It’s so nice spending time with her. She has been with me since Monday morning. Unfortunately, because I have had her the beginning of the week, I won’t this weekend. I get it, but don’t like not having her... you know that though.

Lots of tie dye!

During her nap (which she didn’t take, but that’s another matter), she stripped down, put on a Good Night, somehow picked a matching outfit, and even put on socks. :th

I think she’s really recognizing words. She does that “I don’t know” stuff when I ask a direct question, and I know she does, but if she’s “reading” a book, she will say something from memory, then look at the page a second, and tell me what it really says.
“I am so sorry, Mr. Knox” was corrected to “That’s too bad, sir” when she looked at the page.
:clap:clap
Remember when we didn’t have to even know colors in kindergarten? Now they are reading in the first quarter. :th

Duckling wanted to do crafts. Ha! She didn’t think I was up to the challenge! :bun
Yesterday was construction paper day. We made; masks, fans, hats, headbands, woven placemats, and general cutouts, drawings and paintings. I just thought of chalk. We will have to try that too.
I was proud that she understood folding a fan. She also took to weaving right away. :clap
Today I boiled some eggs. We’ve painted, colored, washed, repainted, rolled... we’ve tortured the eggs. She will have to get over me eating the eggs. I will wait until tomorrow evening when she’s gone though. I’m thinking deviled eggs and stuffed tomatoes.
I said it was time to clean the living room, but she wanted to take a nap instead. I let her. I cleaned some, and she can finish later.
We didn’t sleep much last night. She was overtired, and couldn’t stop crying even in my bed. She finally went to sleep in her own room, only to wake at midnight. She spent the rest of the night in my bed, so I lost sleep while she was settling again. Ya can’t get too mad when the child is kissing and hugging you.
