Toddlers are Quackers

ooo on the paci topic!!! Bugga had a paci for the longest time and my oldest sucks on tee shirts.. I figure if it helps with stress or anxiety than more power to them because there are always worse things out there to be hooked on ya know

I can't say I can relate entirely. I have one little sister, and after that my mother got her tubes tied because she's a doctor and she didn't think she would have time for more kids. She was probably right, as she didn't have much time for us either, but that was OK. My dad filled in as Mr mom a lot. Now that I'm all grown up and married, my husband became disabled with soul shattering neuralgias, one rare enough that it took years before doctors would believe us. I am his caretaker now, and the three kids. That's why he counts as kid number 4 I guess. I'm sort of glad he's allergic to opiates. I do wish his sister was more friendly, I've never really understood family rifts that go on for decades over things you can't change. Seems silly to me, but what do I know?

I agree. Stress relief is most important.

That is too bad. I have a large family. We can pretend to like each other, but there is a lot of "I have not spoken to them in years" especially with my oldest brother.
I think being estranged from all my siblings is partially why I wanted a large family. I love the choas of the holidays, especially if they *do* like each other. lol

I have 6 siblings total, out of the 6, i talk to 1 sister, my oldest brother, and I've reached out to my younger 2, but we'll see if they ever want to talk. I knew what they went through with my mom, so it's possible they'd rather not have that door opened right now. (I don't have any contact with my birth mom, she's dead to me, but I could see how talking to extended family might hurt them.)

haha I'm more worried about making you tired of me. I could talk chickens and kids all day! :o

I play video games to de-stress. I try to get my kids to run around and jump on trampolines, or hug their chickens. I know they say don't hug chickens, but hugging chickens seems to make my kids feel better. :o

Ha! It loaded!
Oh no, what happened????

This morning, my toddler reached over and whacked his sister in the head with one of her rattles. The stinker. He did it for no good reason, too. Shoulda seen his face when I grabbed it from him and showed him how it felt.... he didn't hit her again after that. LOL

I'm going to admit that sometimes my kids get injured and I have no idea where that bruise, scrape or minor cut came from. Esther had a black eye, and I'm not sure where she got it, and she had no idea either. Kids! Princess whaps on her older siblings on a regular basis while they lay on the couch, and then not only do they not move or change position so she can't do it anymore, they yell across the house expecting me to do something about it, while still laying there while she wails on them eventually they move or push her aside, but jeez, I'm still never sure about those kids sometimes. Esther hugs her turkey she named Jelmaro, Jello for short, when she is sad.

My oldest son always has gigantic bruises all over his legs, and I can't ever figure out how he gets them. When I ask he's always like "I think this is when I ran into the fence the other day. Oh, this is when I tripped over the dog, this is when I ran into the tree when doing X..."

All I can think is "kid, do you need me to duct tape pillows to all your limbs?!"

My toddler is always getting bruises too, but his are more from actually doing dare-devil antics, like trying to climb trees... where-as my oldest is just from being a klutz and running into stuff.

Not that i'm much better... I fell into the chicken coop the other day and got a nice big bruise on my thigh because of the goat. (The goat bumped me when I was leaning into it to get the water jug.)

She was pushing her bubble mower, tripped into/over a hole, and face first into a phone pole.
