warming the air and it keeps the moisture from your breath in itDear Doctor Mommies,
I suddenly have a productive cough, and occasional sore throat(second day now). I woke a few times last night because my throat hurt. It felt dry, not the usual sore throat. When I pulled the blanket up to cover my nose and mouth, the sore throat went away.
I do have allergies, but covering my nose is more to keep me from sneezing due to allergies ( if this all sounds gross to you, rest assured that my nose is not running when I do this, and I don’t sneeze.).
So, my question is, how did covering my mouth make my throat instantly stop hurting?
Maybe you worry too much and she picks up on the drinking/ peeing anxiety.I thought I was horrible for not knowing, “oh, she drinks this much, and...” I just know she was drinking enough that she should have peed before 24 hours was up. That was the concern.
One mother was told that a child can’t go overnight without peeing. That I would hate to see.
Moisture, I'm going to guess. In the winter, there is less moisture in the air, and there is water vapor in our breath when we exhale, so putting the blanket over your face conserves air moisture instead of letting it escape. Lack of humidity here causes many a sore throat, especially in the winter.
