My mother is against piercings too. Even my oldest brother got his ear pierced at 18 though.

He had it done at Spencer gifts. Because he was so tall, they had him kneel on the floor to do it. My mother freaked out about that, as well as someone told her that they practice on oranges. My older sisters were all brought to JCPenney’s on their 18th birthdays so that my mother knew that they were done right.
My fear of needles was always so severe that even saying, “needles,” made me cry in pain.
When one of my sisters got married, the store gave her the wrong clip on converters so I was the only bridesmaid without earrings on. Two months before another sister was getting married, I was (18, and) at the Rainbow Mall in Niagara Falls, New York. I went into Claire’s boutique while the woman was on the phone yelling at her daughter. She got off the phone, made a comment about kids, and pierced my ears. I cried horribly, and vomited for several months because there was metal going through my ear and I could not get over that. Actually, I still get sick when I think about it too much.

Anyway, something was very wrong. The maid at the hotel found me crying in my room, and taught me to cup my ear so that I didn’t touch the pillow. She also told me that simply putting the cleaning solution on my ear would stop the pain. She hugged me a few minutes, and wished me well. My ears never healed right, hurt constantly and I got infections. I took my earrings out for only a few days after about two years, and they healed shut.
A few years later, I pierced my ears again. This time, the pain stopped within a few days. No problem since.
Duckling... The little brat said that she didn’t cry, and has no pain at all. She keeps fidgeting when I’m trying to turn the post, so she feels it then. I understand her fidgeting though. I wouldn’t want someone doing that to me!!

fortunately, I know how to stop the pain!
