Toe nail gone but quick still there

I have a hen who has lost her middle toe nail but the entire quick is still there. She definitely doesn't want to put much weight on it, but she can walk.The quick is not bleeding. Any suggestions on how to treat her? Thanks so much

I'm assuming it's like the nail/claw in most other animals, in which case it will be fine soon. It's sensitive now, but will grow less sensitive in a few days. You could try and keep it covered to avoid infection. Eventually the nail should grow back.

My dog is prone to breaking nails and often the crushed nail just get's pulled off entirely leaving only the quick behind. After a few days of nursing it she generally starts running around again as if nothing happened. Eventually the nails grow back.
