It is not often that he does it. I know that with the tolbunt/GL crosses you take the hen from that and put her back with the tolbunt roo. Can I do that in reverse? Take the tolbunt/GL roo and put him with the tolbunt hen?

My smooth Tolbunt annoyingly at times cocks his tail to the side too, but wry tail is a permanent or at least very frequent thing to be seen.

Yes you can do it in reverse, doesn't matter the gender parentage, all that matters is that your birds are hopefully either unrelated or far related, otherwise you'll get randomly dead chicks and/or young birds.

Good. My crosses and my tolbunts came from different states actually...hopefully they are not too close. I've promised to get some pure tolbunt eggs back to the lady I got mine from...so if that one ever starts to lay I will be able to get some pures and some crosses I guess. I'm gonna need some breeding pens!

Isnt it exciting? My Dh will be splitting his coop next month for both pairs to breed ...Ill still leave the other hens in there with them as they are marans and olive eggers...Im pretty sure I can tell their eggs apart....lol

I'd gone down the track of introducing a mille fleur d'anver belgian rooster to try and create Tolbunt. It was not until I read an article by Sigrid van Dort on 'Jazzy Tolbunt Wyandotte!', that I discovered that Tolbunt is gold laced mottled. It certainly makes a difference.
