Tom and bantam roo fighting

We have a very large shed that we converted into a coop. It’s divided in half, so I’ve been letting him roost with the other turkey hens on one side, and the chickens on the other. But they do free range together.

That’s funny because our hens get along great with our chickens, I think that they believe they’re chickens too since they were raised with them:lau

I understand. I of course did my research and knew this before hand. But I do know some people who keep various fowl together peacefully. I was hoping they would as long as they have enough space. Especially since we used to keep them together ourselves and didn’t have any problems. It’s going to be difficult to build a pen with all the snow here. There’s actually a storm outside rn, we’re supposed to get 13 inches :barnie
The problem is your little rooster, not the turkey.

I have kept chickens and turkeys together for many years. My run is big enough that there is 600 sq. ft. of space per each adult turkey. In the past there were half as many turkeys meaning they had 1200 sq. ft. of space in the run. I also had Light Brahmas at the time. The Brahma rooster decided to take on the turkey. The turkey would put him in his place and turn to leave but the rooster would immediately attack from behind. He was also hitting the tom in the exact same place each time.

I was not going to make a separate place for the rooster. The tom was not the instigator and was not bothering any other chickens. The rooster was invited to be the guest of honor at dinner. There were no more instances after that.

Your little rooster is going to continue starting the fights until either you or the tom does something about it. Either separate the rooster or process him. His attitude will eventually get him killed.
