tom keeps maitting.....

i have 2 standard bronze, both roughly the same age (6 months) the tom keeps mounting the hen daily....does this mean she'll be ready to lay eggs soon?.

I think most turkeys are seasonal layers, most don't lay in the winter. our tom did that for a month, then quit when the hens started laying, now closer to winter now, he hasn't bothered them.

Turkey hens are seasonal when it comes to laying, they can have two season, one in the fall and one in the spring. A few Tom's will not stop trying to mount the hens for mating most others will not except when the hens want to mate. Most of the time the Hens control mating and will not allow a Tom to mate with them except when they are laying.

Hens will usually only lay down for the Tom's when she is laying or ready to lay.

The length of daylight can trigger a hen to start laying. So in the winter you have to be careful about how much artificial daylight you have for them.
