I purchased this turkey back in March, so Id say it's around 5 months old.. My dilemma, is it male or female?!

It has male characteristics but clucks like a hen... No snood (it did have a tiny one that it rubbed off while pacing in the coop as a baby, but it never grew back.) it does puff up and tuck its head in like a Tom (before it ever so sweetly attacks me! And only me) also has a very large build, and big bones compared to what I thought a hen would have..
I'm also unsure if it is a broad breast or not? When I purchased it, it was labeled as "turkeys" not specific on type..

I am so confused by this bird, I hope someone can help!

I will go with hen too...by that age males will be displaying with their tails up, like in my avatar...only males can do that...also she has no snood...males can make theirs get long and short by this age...really cool to watch though.

I guarantee you that hens can display just as well as toms do. If you do some searching on here there are photos of hens displaying right beside toms. Hens can also expand their snoods just not to the extent that toms do.

I personally have one hen that her snood extends to the end of her bill when she is displaying.

Thanks everyone!!! We have a love hate relationship, she loves me and follows me and talks to me, but then she attacks me when I'm down on her level, or if my toes are near... Do they attach themselves to people??

Turkeys imprint on humans very easily. Yours appears to have imprinted on you and therefore is treating you as another turkey since she doesn't know the difference.

I go out of my way to avoid imprinting my poults on me so I never have the problem of a turkey thinking I am one of them. My turkeys never attack me and will not even come up close to me. Of course I don't think of turkeys as pets.
