Hi I'm new to raising turkeys and have 3 royal palms and one standard bronze. They are all about like 6 weeks roughly. It's very clear two are toms and one a hen the fourth I'm still unsure about. They are all very friendly towards me and attached to me, they love to follow me around and hangout. One of the males (royal palm) is the most attached to me from the very beginning. Since the day I brought them home he was always the first to come right to me and curiously bite at my clothes, one night when I was cuddling with him he even managed to get my nose ring and swallow it. My question is that is it possible for him to be more aggressive towards other male (standard bronze) because of my presence? They have all gotten along real well until lately when I let them out and Petrie (the royal palm) will start strutting his feathers and also singling out Ty (standard bronze) and attacking him. They both will fight but Petrie seems to be more dominant and aggressive starting the fights and eventually Ty will give in and lay down. I know it is typical for males to fight and considering I only have 4 and only one a definite female the ratio is bad. These turkeys are strictly pets and i am extremely attached to them, I'm worried that since this is already going on if I will not be able to keep both males. I also wonder if it's possible that due to their attachment that I am the cause for Petrie's behavior. I am also housing them with 8 chickens but they are all bantams, Should I be concerned of the males going after the chickens in terms of trying to mate? Any advice and comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
