I would be asking my vet for a progesterone test for one thing, doing twice daily temp It generally gets very low beforr whelping like almost 97. What was the dates she was breed, semen can live up to 7 days after breeding. Dogs whelp generally 63 days from ovulation, not breeding. I guess if I was you I would be asking a vet who does more repro work and an ultrasound would be in order as heart beats can be seen.

Just my experience as a vet tech who is interested in repro and someone wh o has breed before.

Got a call from the vet - they are about to close for the night - Abbey is resting - they ran a blood test on her, also did another x-ray , they also did a urine test-
the pups are still alive from what they cansee on the x-ray ( if they were dead there would be a gas cloud around them from them decaying ) they heard heart beats- from what he could hear they sound strong but it is pretty hard to tell since there is more than one heart beat.
She is going home to spend the night with a vet tech ( they normallydont take animals home with them but since Abbey is so spolied and very preggers )
If she has no problems during the night - we are getting her in the morning.
Vet thinks the reason for all her gas is the pups might be pushing on her stomach and the reason for the lack of movement is they are running out of room.
I wish DH had marked the day they bred - so I could count the days myself.

PUPPIES ARE ON THE WAY FINALLY !!!!!

Abbey went into labor last night and started to tear up all the blankets in her cage - started breathing real heavy and paced all night. about 6 this morning her water finally broke ( to bad it was on the couch )
She is no going around the house picking things up and carring them with her - her frist " born " was the tv remote ( until she bite it to hard ) her second " born " is one of DH's old baseballs ( that " puppy " she can carry I dont care much for the ball anyway LOL )
and as I am writting she is starting to breathe hard again and is pacing up and down the couch ( which I think once this is over the couch will on the curb for the trash man - it was an old couch anyway )
So hopefully by today we will see the pups finally !!

oh did I also mention that with all this going on with her - DH's & my boss is coming in from out of town with some paper work for us to sign that has to be done today !!! so now I am trying to clean up the house finish putting up christmas decorations and help deliver a litter of puppy's

does anyone want to come over and give me a hand today ???? LOL
