This is just like a soap drama I keep checking to see if there is any update !! That is when my DH Jeff will let me get on the forum.. Instead of a rain dance we all need to do a puppy birthing dance...Hope they are all ok and you had a Merry Christmas
This dog is going to make us all wait FOREVER !!! I will give you all my address and you all are welcome to come by and tell her that she needs to let those babies out - so we can see them LOL
Her vet is still out of town - but at the last visit he said everything was fine and looked normal - and since DH really messed up the counting of the days it is hard to tell how far off he was ( last time I let him mark the date of ANYTHING)
hope you all dont have to wait much longer - if they are not here soon I am going to pop the little buggers out LOL
Just got home from dropping Abbey at the vets -- I dont know what is going on at this point - Abbey has been eating fine one day than the next not eating - she still has milk , her energy level is also up and down. I have not felt babies move in a few days, also Abbey has been very gasey ( a smell that could clear a room ) vet said that could be a bad sign - so Abbey is going to hang out at the vets for awhile - while they do some test to find out if pups are still alive and see where we go from there - also one of the vet techs will be taking her home for an overnighter ( depending on what vet finds ).
Milk normally shows up 7-10 days before pups arrive and Abbey has had hers for about 2 weeks now - so pups should have been born by now. Abbey is showing no signs of stress - having normal poops, not throwing up, all the normal things you would look for in case of something wrong.
she is a young dog and very healthy - so what ever happens she should pull through alright- at this point I dont know what to do - vet said he would try to save the pups if he can, but they will most likey worry more about Abbey ( we are not giving up on the babies please dont miss understand me )
I have delivered many litters of pups - some from my own dogs some friends dogs - and have never had to worry this much before.
I will let everyone know what is going on when I hear back from the vet.
I hope everything goes well with Abbey and the babies. It always boggles me how people who don't take care of their animals can have litter after litter just fine, and those who do care have problems like this to deal with.
