well we did not get much sleep last night ( me and abbey that is DH can sleep through anything )
all day yesterday she was restless and everytime I sat down for more than a minute she climbed in my lap and wanted to be held.
just before bed she started licking herself ( you know the spot LOL ) alot and had a little mucus discharge nothing major yet.
she has been outside a few times to play in the snow and go potty.
we are hoping to have babies soon but just like hatching eggs - it could still be awhile.

thanks for checking in on her i will keep you all posted as soon as somebody starts to make thier way out.

Well here we are still NO PUPPIES took Abbey to vet this morning to see what in the world is going on -- he felt her tummy and says he feels something in there - was not food we did not feed her before she went - she still has milk, still " acting " like she is going to have pups but is not in active labor, so we are going to give her a few more days DH thinks he missed counted her due date , vet seems to think that might be the problem so we are going to give her a few more days if nothing happens by Sat, than another vet visit and we will most likely chaulk this up to a false preg. - which will suck since we have been waiting for puppies this whole time than I would have to tell the people waiting there will be no babies !

We will just keep waiting I guess

Oh man. We had that happen with a dog a long time ago. We had a litter of ten already spoken for, and then nothing. I had her spayed after that. It was a little too much for me. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

well I have one of those vets - that does not like doing an x-ray to determine preg. ( dont ask me why I have no idea ) I keep using this vet because for the most part he is great - he pretty much saved the life of my crippled dog twice - and me and DH are able to make payments on vet bills - where some vets make you pay this whole thing up front

I would have thrown a fit. At the very least he should have done a quick sonogram to verify that she is pregnant and that the fetuses are viable. Of all the grump I have every owned or fostered that were bred, each and every one has had a late term x-ray to count heads. No harm. The clinic I was a tech at for 5 years also routinely did them.

Oh, well. Have YOU felt any movement? If she is as late term as you think - you should not only be able to feel but also see those pups in there. If not, I'd be very concerned. I hope you're not waiting through a false pregnancy.

My dad sold a Doberman we had when I was a kid to someone who wasnt very attentive to her condition. She was two weeks overdue when he finally took her into the vet. Two weeks is a very long time for a short gestation period. They lost her and all the puppies and I was heartsick. I wouldn't wait too long to verify that pregnancy.

I've never bred a dog (adopt a senior shelter dog!

), but I would certainly think that if she was in her final stage, a qualified person would be able to tell for sure if there were pups at all, and if so, if they were still viable.
I always thought bulldogs were usually delivered by c-section - is that true?
Anyway, I hope she is pregnant and the pups come and all is well. I hear you about a vet that accept payments over time - they are rare!

I am anxious to hear how she is doing. I am not saying this to scare you but 2 months ago my husband's cousin's Boxer was due. She never did go into labor and they had to do a c-sec. There were 9 puppies in there!

Abbey is in the house - I had her outside for a bit of sunshine and to go potty and when she came in she had a really long " mucus string " coming down and has been licking herself alittle more and rolling all over the couch and her blanket -

I have felt movement - but DH thinks I might be " wanting " to much and thought I felt someone moving in there ( I know what I felt !! LOL ) as far as seeing anyone move - there are times you look at her and she looks bigger in the tummy and other times bigger around the chest area?? I will only give her another day or two before I go to another vet to see what they think.

But with the mucus coming out -I hope that means that everything is right on track and that DH miss counted the days.
The mucus was clear - not bloody or smelly looked like a normal mucus plug- so lets hope pups are coming soon I have never heard of a false preg. where they loss a plug- she has also been licking her teets alot since coming back in.
everything with Abbey is totally different than our other boxer's preg.
I will keep everyone posted on how this turns out.
