I found this cutie about three weeks ago by the side of a desert highway. I was lost, and I guess so was she. I called my husband who told me to leave her there, but he was overruled

I just could not leave her, she was miles from anywhere with no food or water.

She's fitted in perfectly, our dogs have accepted her and she hasn't been a bit of trouble. She housebroke within a day, has never chewed anything, doesn't bark and doesn't cry at night. She doesn't chase our animals and listens to everything we say. Her one problem is she is absolutely petrified of us swatting at flies, she panics and hides as if she thinks she is going to be hit. She's just a perfect dog, and deserves so much better than being dumped.

Tomorrow Sadie is leaving for her forever home. She is going to a close friend of my MIL, who will spoil her rotten. She just recently lost her dog, also a Sadie, to old age. Most importantly, she's going to get spayed! It's still hard to say goodbye though, I hope she doesn't think that i've abandoned her.

Awwwwww, she's beautiful!

I'm so glad you brought her home. I know the feeling about feeling like you are abandoning her. You're not, I'm sure your MIL's friend will just love her to death.

Just think, if you hadn't taken her home, what might have happened to her? You're an angel.

LOL We can't. We have five dogs already, and a litter on the way.

I know it's tough, but you are so doing the right thing. She will be an only dog so think of all the love and attention she will recieve. Bless you for saving her life and giving her a taste of Heavan on earth!
She's adorable.
(BTW, what kind of puppies are you expecting? And, Best wishes for a happy, healthy litter!)

You did the right thing. Sadie will know this and already does. She will go to a wonderful home. If she doesn't fit in there, she'll be back.

OR you can go for visits.

I'm sure it will be hard to part with her but what a great thing you have done for her! Will you be able to visit once in a while? All of my cat's and dogs, except for my rottie, are rescue's and I really commend the people who save them and help them find great homes.

Yep we can go and visit her from time to time, and they'll keep us updated. I'm glad, i'd hoped we could give her to someone who'd let us know how she's doing. She can come and stay if they go on vacation too.

We're having a litter of Black Mouth Curs, they're due around 15th September. I'd hoped to talk my husband out of breeding his dogs, I think he's starting to see sense now they're on the way.

What a sweetie, and yes you are doing the right thing. I used to foster dogs and find them homes and it was sooo tough letting them go even though I handpicked their new homes. The first couple days will be rough on her and you but she'll settle in like she did with you and learn to trust them. Don't go visit for at least a month or she will be confused. You are lucky you only had her a few weeks. I had a puppy for 3 months and then I ended up shipping him to my friend in Michigan who had lost a dog to cancer and this dog was perfect for him. It was one of the hardest things I had to do .. put that dog on a plane! But I visited them last year
and it was so cool to see him again at 2 years old and so loved and happy in his home. Very rewarding! You'll feel that way too when you get updates from her new familyand see her thrive!
