Here is a funny story: when my brother was in PreK, his friend's mom was a dentist. Well, his friend told him about the "candy fairy," where if you put candy under your pillow, you would get a present. So my brother started doing it. To try it out. I began being the candy fairy because I had a sweet tooth and many new, unopened toys and did not want to crush my brother's dreams. I put whole giant puzzle boxes under his pillow. How he didn't wake up, I'll never know. But it was great. He was happy, I was pleased, and all was good. But then my mom made me write him a letter telling him the candy fairy wouldn't be coming back.

A few years later, he told the tale of the candy fairy to my teacher's son... except he left out the part where she wasn't real. It was a hilarious conversation explaining to my teacher what her son was talking about and why he was putting candy under his pillow.
