Tonight I went outside and saw a rat wandering around in the run.

The coop is totally sealed with chicken coop wire. The floor, sides and top. Tonight I went out and we have an auto spotlight whenever anything moves outside and I saw a rat inside the run. I have no idea how it got in there. I hope it is gone by the morning, because I am freaked out by rats.

Chicken wire is designed to keep chickens in, rats can get in anything their head can fit through. You can reinforce it with 1/2" hardware cloth.

Probably dug underneath the run wall i put welded wire fencing down on my run floor put sand on it then put mulch on it and they would have to dig 2cinder blocks down to get into my run put some traps out

If you keep the chicken feed in the run the rats will come! In rural areas the snakes follow the rat trails and move into the coop too.

The Ratproof Feeder is good. I have one to keep the chipmunks out of the feed.
