Hi, we just acquired 2 hens from a friend and are learning about owning chickens. We have a buff coloured hen and a speckled hen. Not sure what they are but we like them.

Hi and welcome! As suggested above, a photo of the birds would be great and we can probably help you ID your birds. How old is your Jake? I have one of my own who is 13 and my partner in crime when it comes to the chicken obsession.
