Too dark for Buff Orpingtons?

Well, that's a relief. I have probably 6 solid buff ones. Hopefully one or two will turn out to be roosters, as I wanted to hook them up with a couple of my older hens.

I called TSC this afternoon and they told me they would refund my money. They, of course, can't take them back so I guess I get free chickens. But now I'm more than anxious that one of the buffs be a rooster.

Good deal on the refund, bad deal that you didn't get what you wanted. TSC is horrible about correctly labeling their breeds :/

It might take a while for an Orp cockeral to be noticeable, they tend to mature late. Feel free to post individual pictures in a few weeks and we'll do our best to tell you if we see a boy in the group.

Here's a picture of the kids from today. Are the red chicks with white wings sex links or what? It looks like I have 5 of them and 5 Buffs. I'm taking this picture to TSC tomorrow as proof so they can refund my money.

Yes the dark red with white wing/tail feathers are red sex links.
You do have 4 buff Orps that can see in that picture.

The black Australorp standing directly in front of the one buff next to the waterer kinda looks like a cockeral to me.

Thanks for the information. When they get a little bigger I'll post better pictures of everyone so we can figure out exactly what I've got (as far as boys/girls).

My 7 year old twin sons are in charge of the Australorps, and, although we touched on the options should any be roosters, we may need to re-address the issue (like, do we breed them or do we eat them?).
