Are these from your own eggs?
No, from a breeder called Gypsy Hen. She shows Marans and Ameraucanas but breeds some Olive Eggers too, because why not haha

I miss the Oliver egger I had.No, from a breeder called Gypsy Hen. She shows Marans and Ameraucanas but breeds some Olive Eggers too, because why not haha
I have 2 beautiful OE with big floppy combs! They are Legbar/Marans cross. So I wouldn’t be too worried with a straight comb on your OE!Woke up to baby #7. A little F2 Olive egger. It doesn’t have a pea comb so I’m thinkig probably won’t lay Olive. Didn’t expect it to be light colored either! It’s going to be so interesting looking once it’s dry. So now 7/12 are hatched. Plus I have the 3 wild card eggs in there that I wasn’t sure about. We will see what today brings. No pips on any other eggs yet. About to start pulling the dry-ish chicks out.

How long do you leave them in for?
The last hatch I had, I had the brooder plate so I took them out 15 minutes after they hatched and put them in the brooder under the plate. I'm in love with it! So isn't my husband.
You probably will never see them once you put them under the plateI have the brooder plate too! I didn’t intend to leave them in the incubator so long but they weren’t quite dry when I was about to go to bed and I was worried they wouldn’t stay under the heat plate to fully dry off or somethig and catch a chill while I was asleep.

I think in my case the blue egg gene is coming from Ameraucanas hence why I figured straight comb equals no olive eggs. But I feel like the olive eggers that don’t lay olive can put out some really interesting, bloomy browns so if it’s a hen I’ll probably keep her either way.
