Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

I'll definitely try to get some pictures to share here when they start hatching. :D

Oh no poor little one! I haven't dealt with wry neck in such a young baby but I know they can get it even right after hatching. Does the nutridrench have vitemin E, selenium and B vitamins? I'd try giving her a few drops, but if it doesn't have all of those things I know poultry cell does have all those vitamins and is usually at tractor supply if you have one of those near you. I use human vitamins on my older babies who come down with wry neck since there little beaks are big enough I can use a syringe but I doubt that would work on such a young baby.
I've used human vitamins mixed with a little electrolytes on newly hatched chicks. A few drops with a syringe in the side of the beak. I have a hard time finding the right baby vitamins but I have tons of regular vitamins.

Have you got them yet

Yes! I ended up going with the incuview and am very happy with it. I actually just ordered a second one.
And both batches of eggs arrived. One was scrambled during shipping. Just got unlucky. It was 13 eggs. 6 never developed, 6 quit super early, and 1 made it to lockdown but did not hatch. I opened it and it looks like it quit around day 18.
The second batch was 15 eggs. 8 hatched beautifully. 4 were either clear or early quitters. They were dark eggs and I didn’t feel like opening them so not sure which. Another was a quitter at about day 10. And then 1 was fully developed but didn’t hatch, and another was malpositioned and I tried to assist but it didn’t make it. I’m very happy with my 8/15 hatched.

Very nice. I've probably asked this before but where are you getting the eggs? What type? Are you the one getting eggs from Gypsyhen?

I'm trying actively not to buy more eggs until I know what sort of hatch I have. Hopefully all mine hatch but that would definitely mean I'm done with chicks for the year.

I’m the one with Gypsy Hen eggs on the way. A dozen + Ameraucanas and 6+ Birchen Marans. :)

It's the vitamin e that is the problem for the little babies I've found. The vitamin e for humans in capsules is very thick and sticky and doesn't mix in with liquid well for me. I use some crushed B complex, a little bit of crushed selenium and vitamin e mixed in with a little poultry cell for my older babies with wry neck. It works well but I think that type of vitamin e wouldn't be safe for a tiny chick as it could stick in the babies mouth too easily. Maybe there is a different form vitamin e comes in that could be mixed in better though?

I used to keep poly vi sol without iron on hand but I switched to poultry cell since it has more types of vitamin B and it has some selenium which I believe poly vi sol didn't have.

Hey duck knowledgeable peeps. My duck eggs are at 25 days, 26 will be around 5pm tonight. Internet says mule take 32 days. I've been checking my eggs just in . A few sure look close to internal pipping. I took out the turning and raised humidity some. What do you think? Mothers are pekin, father is drake. Oh and one died. It had a tiny crack and I guess bacteria got in.

Nutridrench has:
.2%Lysine
.05% methionine
.4%calcium
Vit A
Vit D-3
Vit E

I gave her a litle i the side of her beak twice and then dipped her beak in water and put her back under the heat plate. Do you think I should run to tractor supply to get what you said. She is only 48 hours old

Its so sad, I just left work immediately. Im home now

Do you know what the father's breed is?

To get a mule you have to have a mallard derived breed in a non mallard breed. Muscovy are a non mallard breed.

Basically the eggs can hatch between 28 and 35 days if it is a Pekin and muscovy mix. They say 32 because that's the Midway point between the two.

I wouldn't turn the eggs anymore and I would just leave them be. Just make sure that your humidity is okay.
